InSyte guided a federal government agency through a strategic planning process that was under intense public scrutiny to reposition itself in light of new global realities. Our approach put a premium on public transparency and employee engagement to ensure that the new direction drew on insights from front lines, the scientific community and political realities

InSyte guided a high-powered executive committee consisting of Atlanta business and civic leaders to steer this state-of-the art strategic planning process for a non profit uniquely supporting children with serious medical conditions. Generative interviews connect leaders’ deepest purposes to the organization’s emergent future. Journeys to relevant but very different contexts illuminated the possibilities for this financially-strong organization to articulate an aspirational blueprint for the next 10 years.  With InSyte's support, the organization initiated strategic changes in the nature of its partnerships and funddraising strategies, made a long-stalled decision to expand its physical site, and broadened its mission to include children with a history of abuse, abandonment and other serious challenges.  It has grown from a summer-only program to year-round.

For a national foundation InSyte facilitated a first-ever visioning session among staff and trusteesthat enabled a strategic refocusing of mission on vulnerable children.  Difficult decisions to eliminate programs were accepted because of the engagement strategies utilized to make difficult decisions.

The board of a United Way hired InSyte Partners to guide it through a strategic repositioning process. Since 9-11 and watershed changes in the regulatory environment of aid organizations, the United Way faced substantial obstacles to financial solvency and community impact. InSyte led the board through frank analysis and dialogue that allowed it to make the difficult, but purposeful and unified decision to merge with a larger metropolitan United Way, while preserving some local governance.

InSyte Partners lead a strategic planning process for a consortium of seven synagogues that were facing vastly changing demographics in their section of the city. Traditionally, these very independent synagogues struggled with conflict and competition. They sought to collaborate to devise a plan for the future that would work for all involved and for their constituents in the city. The end result was the merger of two synagogues and various changes for others – all actions were done with dignity and a sense of purpose enabling the continuation of a strong tradition in the community.

For a community-wide initiative on early care and learning, InSyte Partners led a multi-year parent leadership project. InSyte worked with diverse groups of parents to enable them to navigate the systems that impact children (education, child care, health, etc.) and effectively advocate individually and collectively.  These parents have gone on to become  elected to their local school board, oppperate an advocacy group for parents of special needs children, be nominated to statewide parent advisory groups, and generally to advocate for quality education for thier children and all children respectively and effectively.

For a task force of the Mayor’s office of adult services in a major metropolitan city,  InSyte designed and facilitated a series of cross-sector large group meetings which resulted in the development, acceptance and funding of the City’s 10 Year plan to end homelessness.  A powerful trilateral (business, governmental and nonprofit) coalition emerged oout of this process.
